Lost in Space: The Sci-fi Thriller Pandorum Finds Its Way Home Before Christmas

What happens when you mix equal parts Alien, Resident Evil and Sunshine with a dash of Event Horizon? You get Pandorum, the Frankenstein monster of space-madness sagas, which stars Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster. In the derivative Christian Alvart-directed flick, Quaid and Foster are astronauts who wake up from an extended hypersleep to find themselves alone on a spaceship with no memory of who they are, what they are doing or where everyone is. It sounds like a typical Sunday morning at Blu-ray Bob’s house except that paranoia and homicidal tendencies mount as the two try to piece together what happened to the crew and to Earth.

Pandorum didn’t exactly clean up at the box office, but hardcore sci-fi fans will get into this lost-in-space mystery. Anchor Bay is bringing Pandorum home on both DVD and Blu-ray on December 22. Extras include an audio commentary, “The World of Elysium” behind-the-scenes featurette, flight-team training video, deleted and alternate scenes, still galleries as well as a digital copy for you to put on a mobile device and enjoy on your own long-distance flight to an alien destination.
