We've seen various set photos, but now the time has come for our first official taste of Quentin Tarantino's next film, Django Unchained, starring Christoph Waltz (as the bounty hunter Schultz) and Jamie Foxx (as a former slave named Django) who go huntin' bad guys, like the notorious slave owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), who's holding Django's wife (Kerry Washington) in captivity at his wicked slave ranch known as Candie Land . In typical QT fashion, expect plenty of inventive fight-to-the-death scenes as our hero Django goes looking to exact revenge against those who've done him wrong.
Foxx, speaking to EW (who premiered the images), says that the way the characters talk to each other is "beautiful" and "mindblowing," adding "You've seen movies deal with slavery -- or westerns that never dealt with slavery -- do it the safe way. This way is like ... wow."
The full synopsis reveals a good amount of the plot, so we'll leave it at this. Check out EW for more quotes. Django Unchained hits theaters on December 25th, and you should expect the film's first teaser trailer real soon.
