Casting: Leonardo DiCaprio in Talks for Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained
As previously rumored, Leonardo DiCaprio is now officially in talks to star as the villain in Quentin Tarantino's next film, Django Unchained, a sort of Southern Western about a former slave who is trained by a bounty hunter to exact revenge upon those who have wronged him. As of now the bounty hunter is going to played by Christoph Waltz, and Will Smith had been rumored to be up for the part of Django. DiCaprio would play the character Calvin Sandie, owner of a brothel housing black slaves. He features prominently in the script as having something both Django and the bounty hunter want: Django's wife. Other names mentioned for Django (if Smith passes, which he may) include Idris Elba, Jamie Foxx and Chris Tucker. [Deadline]
Casting: Judd Apatow's Knocked Up Spin-Off Casts Four More
Judd Apatow is busy this week, having signed on again with Universal to produce another comedy for them that's to be directed by Bridesmaids' Paul Feig, and now four more have joined his next directorial outing, a spin-off-of-sorts to Knocked Up, starring the married couple played by Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann in the original. Alongside Albert Brooks and Megan Fox, we have Chris O'Dowd (Bridesmaids), Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture), Charlyne Yi (who was featured in Knocked Up and will reprise her character Jodi) and Wyatt Russell (Cowboys and Aliens and son of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn). Rumors: Shia LaBeouf Says Indiana Jones 5 is Not So Far Off
You figure anything having to do with Indiana Jones 5 is going to get attention, and leave it up to Shia LaBeouf to drive press wild with his mysterious quotes. This time he tells MTV that Harrison Ford is working out, and so therefore the next Indiana Jones movie should be on its way ... right? He says, "I talked to Harrison. He said he’s staying in the gym. He said that he’s heard no word, but he does know that George [Lucas] is out there looking for a MacGuffin. But he said to me he’s staying in the gym, so that means it’s not so far off."
So what does it mean? Well, it means there's no script, and without that we have no movie. So until there's something more official, we'll be at the gym ... [MTV News]
