Discuss: Songs That Have Been Ruined or Overshadowed by Movie Montages
The movie montage — particularly in the 1980s — wouldn't be complete without a song to set the mood. Unfortunately for the band or singer, their tune is often ruined or overshadowed thanks to the screen images associated with it that are hard to get out of our heads. Think back to Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger," which was used as the theme song in Rocky III. It sat at the number one spot on the Billboard charts for weeks when the movie was released. When you think of Survivor you think of Rocky and there's really no way to separate them in our collective memory.
The same goes for Footloose and other movies, which Rue the Day has shared their thoughts about. Meanwhile, check out these songs below and try not to think about Kevin Bacon or Carl Weathers all damn day.
