We’ve seen cowboys take on aliens, but now there’s a new group preparing to defend Earth from extraterrestrial invaders in Barry Sonnenfeld’s motion comic Dinosaurs Vs. Aliens.
Sonnenfeld has teamed up with writer Grant Morrison to create a motion-comic version of their graphic novel, which finds a highly intelligent group of dinosaurs defending Earth from alien invaders looking for a new home. The first installment is now officially online at Yahoo! Screen for your perusal.
Running just over four minutes, the debut episode is mostly dedicated to setting up the premise of the series. An alien race needs a new home and while combing the galaxy for a hospitable planet, they happen upon Earth. They’re set to move in – except the dinosaurs who currently call our planet home aren’t exactly a welcoming committee.
With a title like Aliens Vs. Dinosaurs, one would expect a lot of violent confrontation. That’s almost assuredly coming in later episodes, but there’s a decided lack of fighting in this particular installment. We’re hoping the second episode will remedy that.
