Samuel L Jackson has portrayed tough-talking superspy Nick Fury in five feature films and has a contract to appear as the Marvel Comics character in at least four more movies, but that isn't stopping David Hasselhoff from wanting to don the eye patch once more.
The 1990's fixture appears as the S.H.I.E.L.D. director in the 1998 TV movie Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and recently spoke to Yahoo about his time in the Marvel universe.
"I was the first Nick Fury. Stan Lee put me in that. He gave me the best line ever: 'Guys like you tend to cling to the bowl no matter how many times you flush.'"
The actor goes on to say that Lee called him the "ultimate" Nick Fury and then chimes in about Jackson's performance in the role:
"I was hoping to have played him in the movie. And then Samuel L. Jackson came in and he was a great Nick Fury but he wasn't really the consummate Nick Fury, the way he was written. And I think that's a shame because he's a great character and a funny character… I'm hoping to do it again sometime."
There's undoubtedly another (TV) movie in your future, Hoff, but it may involve a Syfy creature (no disrespect, we're all about absurd monster movies) or something in the Scary Movie franchise. There's always Germany, too. His sizzle chest still reigns supreme there.
Feel free to entertain the Hoff's daydreams by casting him in imaginary Marvel sequels, below.
