First Look: The (Kinda) New Batmobile in 'The Dark Knight Rises'

Jul 14, 2011

When we last left Batman in The Dark Knight, his Bat-tumbler came apart during an exciting chase scene, leaving him riding solo on the Bat-cycle. Naturally many fans thought Batman would return in The Dark Knight Rises with a newly designed vehicle of choice, though recent images from the Pittsburgh set of the film seem to reveal a slightly altered Bat-tumbler that looks very similar to the one Batman drove in the previous film. This makes sense, though, considering the fact that it was originally meant to be a military vehicle; you'd think Wayne Enterprises had created more than one.

That doesn't necessarily mean this thing won't come equipped with some fancy new features, it just means it won't look a helluva lot different from before. It also doesn't mean this will be the only thing Batman drives in the film; behind the Tumbler (and covered) is his Bat-cycle, and we've heard rumors of Batman jumping out of a plane at some point too.

Check out the image below courtesy of Superhero Hype, and underneath that we've posted an image of the Bat-tumbler from The Dark Knight for you to compare.
