How to Watch Danny Boyle's 'Frankenstein,' Starring 'Star Trek 2's New Villain, Benedict Cumberbatch
May 09, 2012
Last February Danny Boyle directed a new stage adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein starring Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC's Sherlock, Star Trek 2) and Jonny Lee Miller (Hackers, Mindhunters) for the Royal National Theatre in London. Cumberbatch and Miller alternated playing both Victor Frankenstein and his monster, and by all accounts the production was both a critical and commercial hit throughout its two-plus month run.
A recording of the play was broadcast to select theaters in the UK and the US last year, and apparently watching it on the big screen was almost as appealing as on the stage, because it's about to happen again. Fathom Events will be exhibiting the recording on June 6 and 7th this year. And if you're worried about missing out on the duality of Cumberbatch and Miller's performances, you should go to both night's events: one will have Cumberbatch in the title role, the other Miller.
You can check right here to see if a theater near you will be participating in the event.
