Another day, another piece of Ghostbusters 3 non-news (including that amusing rumor about a shredded script), but today Dan Aykroyd's name is popping up because of a political comedy. The vodka entrepreneur will be starring in the Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis satire Dog Fight, written by Eastbound & Down's Shawn Harwell and directed by Jay Roach.
The two funnymen play rival politicos down south looking toward a seat in the White House. Aykroyd's role hasn't been defined as of yet, but as Vulture points out, it's somewhat of a return to the comedic circle since the actor has largely been favoring the booze biz over the limelight for the past several years.
The film may find real-life competition when it releases in August during the end of the 2012 Presidential campaign — always a surreal and hilarious experience. We wonder if Aykroyd will find a way to work in a joke or two about his paranormal paramour, which he had planned to start shooting in the spring regardless of which cast members came on board.
