The first big news out of Disney's D23 conference this weekend is that those two mysterious Pixar films announced earlier in the month are beginning to take some shape. The first one, to be released on November 27, 2013, will be directed by Bob Peterson (Up) and take place in a world where dinosaurs never went extinct.
The second film, to be directed by Pete Docter (Monsters Inc., Up), is a bit more cerebral, and definitely ambitious for Pixar. Not much is known about it except that it will "explore a world everyone knows, but no one has seen: inside the human mind." That film arrives on May 30, 2014, and knowing Pixar we envision them creating an entire world of characters who live inside (and help operate) the human mind. Could be very cool and definitely one of their more unique projects.
Aside from those two, next up for Pixar are Brave (June 22, 2012) and Monsters University (June 21, 2013). Additionally, it was announced that a new Toy Story short entitled Small Fry will play before The Muppets in November.
