We've been enjoying all the ways people have used Twitter's new social media platform
Vine. The mobile service allows users to share short-form videos (six seconds or less) on an endless loop. Website
Animal recently hosted a "Very Short Film Fest" encouraging participants to take advantage of the medium during that whole
NC-17 debacle. (The entries and winners are
NSFW.)
Now, the Tribeca Film Festival is hopping on the Vine bandwagon, challenging people to create six-second films for a mini-fest devoted to the medium. Submit your short to The #6SECFILMS Competition in the #Genre, #Amateur, #Animate and #Series categories. Post it to Twitter with the appropriate hashtags, and be sure to follow
@TribecaFilmFest or your hard work will mean nothing. The contest is open until April 7 at 11:59 p.m. Winners chosen by the programmers will be "displayed" on the film-festival website the week of April 17.
