New Cowboys & Aliens Trailer Features Naked Olivia Wilde and an Alien Hand!

Jun 13, 2011

With the summer 2011 movie season off to a promising start (thanks to JJ Abrams’ Super 8), it’s been easy to forget that some of the most anticipated films of the year have yet to release – take Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens. Things have been sort of quiet on the C&A front, but that all changed Friday night – when a brand new trailer was unveiled at Spike TV’s Guy’s Choice Awards.

The film is back with a bang, thanks to this awesome new preview clip featuring loads of previously unseen footage and packed with action (plus a tantalizing glimpse of a naked Olivia Wilde…). It has us even more excited than we already were about this ambitious high concept western/sci-fi crossover.

In the film, Daniel Craig plays a mysterious stranger who wanders into the town of Absolution with no memory of how he got there. Absolution is run by the “iron-fisted” Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford), but soon the citizens find something more terrifying than the stern military man – an alien invasion. When extra-terrestrial forces rain down death from the skies, former enemies must unite to stop the threat from beyond the stars. Lots of action ensues.

All in all, we like this new trailer more than the previous one – which is an impressive feat, since we liked the first Cowboys & Aliens preview just fine. This new clip seems to offer a lot more insight into how the film will look and play – plus, not only do you get that hint of a naked Olivia Wilde, you also get your first glimpse at an alien hand. For us nerds, that’s every bit as exciting as potential nudity.

Don’t just take our word for it, though – have a gander at the trailer below and see for yourself. It’s impossible to judge a film by its preview, but this new teaser has us excited about the film’s potential. We’ll have to wait until July 29th to see if it lives up to expectations. That’s the day when the alien invasion makes its way to a theater near you.
