'Coherence' Trailer: Here's the Right Way to Make a Low-Budget Sci-fi Movie

'Coherence' Trailer: Here's the Right Way to Make a Low-Budget Sci-fi Movie

May 06, 2014

Coherence posterThe trailer for Coherence doesn't want to tell you too much about the movie, so we won't either. But here are the basics: a meteor passes over Earth the same night a group of friends are having a dinner party. As it passes overhead, the power goes out, plunging the house and neighborhood into darkness. The group decide to send some people to the one house down the street that still has its lights on, only to discover...well, we won't say, but that's got you hooked, doesn't it?

There's a reason Movies.com is quoted as saying Coherence is one of the best science fiction movies in years. This is a smart, resourceful, idea-based movie, and our own Jacob Hall really dug it at its world premiere at Fantastic Fest last year (where that quote in the trailer is taken from). And soon you'll be able to check it out, too, since Oscilloscope is putting Coherence in theaters starting June 20, 2014.
