Clint Eastwood doesn’t make a lot of movies these days -- because he’s Clint Eastwood and he doesn’t need to make a lot of movies anymore. The man has an incredible body of work that speaks for itself. He is, however, currently involved in the shooting of Trouble with the Curve – a father-daughter drama with a baseball backdrop, and EW has shared the first pictures of Eastwood doing his thing.
The film marks the actor-director's first work since 2008's Gran Torino – and the first time he's acted for a director other than himself in almost nearly two decades.
Eastwood stars as an aging Atlanta Braves scout whose eyesight is failing. With his career on the line, he goes on the road for another tour of duty – but brings along his daughter (Amy Adams) to help him "see." Naturally, the two have a tense relationship – and we’re betting it changes dramatically by the time the end credits roll.
The film features an A-list cast, including Eastwood, Adams, John Goodman and Justin Timberlake and is already being hailed as this year’s Moneyball in some circles.
Will Trouble with the Curve live up to last year’s baseball hit? We’ll have to wait until it hits theaters on September 28 to know for sure.
