Chris Evans Gets Dream Role, The Last Airbender Trailer 2, and Now Pay More for 3D!

  • About Time On Monday it was announced Chris Evans, formerly the Human Torch in Fantastic Four, accepted the role of Steve Rogers aka Captain America after debating a week for who knows why (hello, do the words "hit the lottery" mean anything to you, Chris?). Question is, when it comes to bossing Tony Stark around, will Evans have the chops?
  • When Red-and-Blue Makes Green Planning to see Alice in Wonderland this weekend? Now that studios are shoving every movie they make down our 3D-weary throats, comes word that effective March 26, tickets to 3D movies will go up as much as 26%. I'm guessing none of this will go to improving concession food, or hiring more people to clean the sticky stuff off the floor.
  • Earth Wind and Fire Here's the new trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender that strikes me as dangerously Lord of the Rings-y with the one-kid-shall-unite-them-all theme, but then again I don't know the anime series on which it's based, so sue me. The big twist? If it saves Shyamalan's career.
  • Hmm... The just-out trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead proclaims it to be "an epic of epic epicness. Do you agree, or is this just more Michael Cera being Michael Cera?
  • Blow Me Down Hollywood figures we need another movie starring generations-old Popeye the Sailor Man and his sidekicks Bluto, Olive Oyl and Swee'Pea. In 3D. (And you thought Yogi Bear in 3D was unnecessary!)
  • How Loverly I didn't even know they were planning to remake My Fair Lady, but An Education's Carey Mulligan has agreed to take on the cockney flowergirl role made famous by Audrey Hepburn and abandoned by Keira Knightley. Hugh Grant may play Henry Higgins, if scripter Emma Thompson has her way.
