Check Out These Awesome Movie Posters That Were Laser-Cut on to Wooden Slabs

May 15, 2014

We’ve seen many design-savvy iterations of movie posters, but artist Spacewolf’s engraved wooden one-sheets are a first. The Brooklyn-based artist re-created iconic posters on laser-cut wooden slabs, transforming the famous images into three-dimensional wonders.

Using U.S.-sourced cherry hardwood that has been oiled and sanded by hand, the laser created gorgeous burnt shades and interesting textures to finish the job. It’s a limited-edition series, with only 50 posters of each design being created at this time, so head to Spacewolf’s website to pick up your own pronto. [Spotted via Design Taxi]
