Evan Katz' directorial debut Cheap Thrills had its world premiere at last year's SXSW Film Festival, where it quickly generated heaps of praise from critics and fans alike thanks to its darkly comedic, increasingly intense story about two old friends caught up in devious game where a rich couple pays them absurd amounts of money to compete against one another for their own amusement.
Of course, the story isn't the only thing that gets the audience worked up. We'd never buy into this wild night of debauchery were it not for the four actors at its core: Pat Healy and Ethan Embry (the friends) against David Koechner and Sara Paxton (the rich couple). And that's why we're happy to be the online premiere of two character posters for the film, featuring the great Healy and Embry.
And not only that, but we finally get to bring you news that Drafthouse Films is bringing you this festival hit even sooner than you might think: Cheap Thrills will be available exclusively on the Movies On Demand platform of Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cox Communications and Bright House Networks on February 21. It will be in select theaters and digital VOD platforms on March 21.
Now check out the below posters and then set a date on your calendar to check out Cheap Thrills either On Demand or in theaters. And just make sure you watch it with as many friends as possible, because we promise this is a fantastically entertaining group movie.
