Kim Ji-Woon's (I Saw the Devil) first American feature, The Last Stand, will now star Jaimie Alexander and Rodrigo Santoro alongside lead Arnold Schwarzenegger, Peter Stormare, and Zach Gilford. The Thor actress — who played the warrior's right hand woman in the film, Sif — has been cast as a cop named Sarah Torrance.

300's Santoro will star as Frank Martinez, a fellow cop and Sarah's love interest. The Last Stand follows Arnie as an American sheriff guarding a border town and thwarting off a Mexican drug cartel. The director has been describing the 2013 flick as " … a combination of Die Hard and High Noon … " What makes you happier, not having to watch The Governator stick his tongue down Alexander's throat, or seeing Alexander rock another actiony role? Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin are reuniting for a Trading Places and Grumpy Old Men-esque project according to Deadline. Adam Shankman will direct the funnymen for an untitled comedy feature that New Line Cinema is distributing. The Hairspray director has produced the Academy Awards ceremony that Baldwin and Martin hosted last year, and the duo have starred together in the Meryl Streep pic It's Complicated. Both also have a history at SNL. There's a lot of comedy gold to mine here, and hopefully whatever this project entails that has everyone ready to sign on and get to work will stand to deliver.

The guy who directed Snoop Dogg, Tom Arnold, and Method Man in a movie (yep, that really happened — Soul Plane) is making another movie and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will be the lead. Kicker is, he's playing a cop (although his character doesn't exactly sound like he's on the straight and narrow). The Pursuit will follow a revenge-seeking cop and a criminal who race to capture a bank robber on the lam. A US Marshall is on their tail trying to prevent a deadly end to the chase and bring the crook to justice. The rapper-actor will also be producing the movie — alongside Emmett/Furla Films — under his Cheetah Vision Films banner, which he runs with producer Randall Emmett. [via THR]
