Sin City 2: Hollywood lost wonderful character actor Michael Clarke Duncan earlier this year, which has left a hole in the heart of fans. It also created an awkward situation for director Robert Rodriguez, who now has to recast the part Duncan was set to play in the follow-up to the filmmaker's 2005 movie Sin City. Duncan would have carried on his role as the mercenary Manute in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. It seems that Rodriguez has finally found a replacement in 24's Dennis Haysbert.

While Mickey Rourke (Marv), Jessica Alba (Nancy), Jaime King (Goldie) and Rosario Dawson (Gail) will return to their roles, the part of Miho has also been recast from Devon Aoki to Jamie Chung, so Haysbert shouldn't feel like the odd man out. "Manute is a character that has been part of the heart of the Sin City tales and the late Michael Clarke Duncan beautifully established that role on- screen," Rodriguez and Frank Miller said in a statement about the move. "We could not tell the story of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For without Manute and are thrilled to welcome Dennis Haysbert to the cast." The film hits theaters on October 4. [via THR]

Anchorman 2: Anchorman fans will be happy to find out that Kristen Wiig is being eyed for a part in the (hopefully) upcoming Anchorman: The Legend Continues. She'd play Steve Carell's love interest, and we couldn't think of a better mate for weather reporter Brick Tamland. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay haven't finished a script for the sequel to the cult comedy hit yet, but McKay has said he hopes to start shooting the movie in the spring. We definitely need some new blood to keep things lively for the Channel 4 Evening News team, and Wiig's talents feel right at home with the rest of the gang. [via The Wrap]

Don Quixote: We hope that Johnny Depp and Terry Gilliam aren't frenemies now since news about Depp leaving the director's long troubled The Man Who Killed Don Quixote and starting his own Don Quixote project has surfaced. Reports indicate that Disney made a deal with Depp for a pitch that sees a modern twist on Miguel de Cervantes’ famed novel Don Quixote. Hot Tub Time Machine director Jeff Morris and Steve Pink (True Memoirs of an International Assassin) are the screenwriters behind the still-untitled film, with Depp producing and his sister Christi Dembrowski’s company Infinitum Nihil also onboard. Feel free to speculate on how Gilliam may or may not be worked into the mix, below. [via The Film Stage]
