It's not official yet, but chances are very high that Carrie Fisher will reprise her role as Princess Leia for the upcoming Star Wars sequel, and if you're jonesing for a sneak peek at what that might look like all these years later, may we present you with this odd clip from the recent Star Wars Celebration in Germany.
Yup, that's Fisher kinda-sorta reprising her Princess Leia character for a sketch onstage opposite Warwick Davis, who famously portrayed the Ewok Wicket in Return of the Jedi. The two share a memorable scene in the film (see a still above), and they decided to reenact it because... why not? Isn't this what people do when they celebrate Star Wars?
We do admit the clip is charming in a dopey kind of way, even if we think it's creepy that Warwick Davis can still belt out lines in the Ewok language as if he's been playing the character every day since. We'll let you judge whether this hurts Episode VII's street cred, but we say it's all in good fun. Let's just stay away from any slave Leia bikini reenactments for the time being, if at all possible. Not even Star Wars fans would celebrate that.
