With one week to go before a whole bunch of nerdy movies descend upon San Diego for the annual Comic-Con convention, Marvel is doing its usual teaser thing, revealing a tiny bit of what it will be bringing to the party. If you know Marvel, you know it's fond of showing off concept art before anything else, and it's smart because much of the stuff featured in the concept art won't be ready to be seen until much closer to release. So this kind of stuff definitely whets your appetite for more.
Here we see some art (via EW) from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, one of two movies Marvel is bringing to Comic-Con (the other being Thor: The Dark World). In this shot (which may come near the end), Cap (Chris Evans) is engaged in a heated brawl with his old pal Bucky Barnes (aka the Winter Soldier, played again by Sebastian Stan). Except Bucky, thought dead after falling off the side of a train in the first Captain America, isn't Bucky anymore. He's now another bioengineered supersoldier who was brainwashed to fight as an assassin for the enemy.
As the two go at it, you'll notice Falcon (Anthony Mackie) firing off his guns in midair as chaos ensues all around. Definitely looks like a pretty badass scene, and we hope to see more of it -- and the movie -- at Marvel's big Comic-Con panel next Saturday. We've collected the other pieces of concept art already revealed for you to check out below.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is due in theaters on April 4, 2014.
