Watch: Fantastic Short Documentary About a 9-Year-Old and His Fascinating Homemade Arcade

Apr 10, 2012

After watching this short earlier today, I thought it'd make for a great pairing to follow Sean O'Connell's powerful (and personal) in-depth article on When You Can Watch Bully with Your Kids. Meet Caine Monroy, a 9-year-old boy from East L.A. who was so obsessed with playing in arcades that he decided to construct his own homemade arcade out of cardboard boxes and other knick-knacks lingering around his father's used auto parts store. When Caine's first and only customer stumbled upon the little kid's wondrous creation, he took it upon himself to not only make a film about Caine's arcade, but also invite all of Los Angeles to come down and play alongside the kid with an endless imagination.

Equal parts tearjerker and feel-good underdog story, Caine's Arcade proves there really is no limits to what young kids can accomplish when they set out to achieve a goal and have a support system in place rooting them on along the way. [via Boing Boing]
