Not long ago Nike created 1,500 pairs of special Nike Mags made to look exactly like the ones Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) wore in Back to the Future, Part II. Even though the sneakers didn't feature automatic lacing (like the ones from the film), each pair still sold for a few grand, with all proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Now, with help from Profiles in History, more groovy Back to the Future memorabilia is being put up for auction, like the jackets worn by Fox and Christopher Lloyd's characters in the original Back to the Future, and one of the three remaining DeLoreans used during filming.
Out of the seven DeLoreans used throughout the trilogy, only three remain. One of those was used in Back to the Future, Part III during the scene where Doc helps Marty travel back to the Old West to rescue the other version of Doc trapped there. According to the LA Times, this particular DeLorean may fetch somewhere between $400,000 and $600,000, so you'd have to be a pretty big fan (with really deep pockets) in order to snag that sucker for your personal collection. The three-day auction will take place at an undisclosed location this December, with a portion of the proceeds going towards Michael J. Fox's foundation.
