'Star Wars' Geeks: How You Can Own These Fantastic Reimagined Boba Fett Helmets

Aug 21, 2012

Sponsored by the Dented Helmet, eFX Collectibles, and the 501st, the As You Wish Project is a charity art event featuring over 40 reimagined Boba Fett and clone trooper helmets, the sales of which will benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The works are being exhibited at Star Wars: Celebration VI and then sold on eBay, starting August 23.
In the meantime, website io9 has shared photos of several of the helmets that are up for grabs, and they're pretty amazing. Imagine what Boba Fett would look like appearing in Game of Thrones, Total Recall and more. This is the handiwork of people like director Joe Johnston (Captain America, The Rocketeer) and artist Sandy Dhuyvetter. Johnson was an effects illustrator and designer for the miniature and optical effects unit on Star Wars. Along with Dhuyvetter and her Daydream Productions, the duo are considered the "father" and "mother" of the bounty hunter and Mandalorian. Also appearing amongst the helmets is a sparkly, Damien Hirst-like creation, Fett as Tony Stark's Iron Man, and an H.R. Giger clone trooper that makes our toes curl.
