Guillermo del Toro’s giant mechs vs. giant monsters movie, Pacific Rim, is still over six months away from release, but the first wave of viral marketing has made its way online ahead of the film's first trailer.

We featured the first video clip for the film earlier today, and now we’ve got your first detailed look at four different sets of blueprints for the giant mechs that humanity will use to wage war in the film.

The massive machines are called Jaegers and are run by two pilots. They have a decidedly Japanese anime appearance, which should appeal to the fanboy contingent. Featuring names like Striker Eureka, Gipsy Danger and Coyote Tango, we can kinda see why the monsters are kicking humanity's butt. I mean, does anyone quiver with fear at a name like Coyote Tango?

Each blueprint gives the viewer not only an idea of what the mechs will look like, but highlights some of their armaments and combat capabilities too. In the film, each will be controlled by two pilots joined by a “neural bridge” as they fight to save the world from Godzilla-like monsters. It’s the kind of movie most of us dreamed of as kids.

Have a gander at the plans below and let us know what you think. Do these mechs have a shot at saving the world or will we all be welcoming our monstrous overlords when everything’s said and done? Pacific Rim brings the fight for humanity’s future to a theater near you on July 12, 2013.
