Bill Murray to Star as FDR, Ghostbusters 3 Remains in Limbo

Mar 30, 2011

  • Bill Murray has agreed to star as FDR in an adaptation of the British radio play Hyde Park on the Hudson. The project, directed by Morning Glory’s Roger Michell, recounts the quasi-incestuous love affair between the 32nd President of the United States and his distant cousin Margaret Stuckley. But the big question is how this will affect Ghostbusters 3. Murray still hasn’t contacted Sony Pictures to tell them if he’s even read the script that was delivered to him at the beginning of the year and with the veteran actor voicing his criticisms toward the first sequel and weariness to do a third Ghostbusters, there’s no telling if or when Dr. Peter Venkman will return to the screen. So does Murray have the acting chops to pull off playing a famous U.S. president and who, if anyone could replace Murray in Ghostbusters? --Derrick Deane
