Jan 11, 2013

The Oscar nominations are in the books, and now all we have to do is sit back, relax and obsess over them for the next month and a half. Who will win? Who will lose? Who will actually chip in for an Oscar party at your place this year instead of cheaping out and bringing bottled water? As we spend the next few weeks changing our predictions multiple times, we should also pay a little attention to how these movies and stars got here in the first place. Let's start with the Visual Effects category.

We've rounded up a few videos showing off how this year's Oscar-nominated movies for best visual effects actually pulled off all the stuff that got them nominated in the first place. Which of these movies do you think deserves the Oscar for best visual effects?

The Avengers

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Snow White and the Huntsman

Life of Pi
