The Best Original Song category at the Academy Awards is a tricky thing. There are so many rules and guidelines that go along with the category that most years some of the best songs don't even get recognized because they're not eligible for one reason or another. Of course that doesn't mean the songs that do make it in don't belong there, and this year's crop is an eclectic mix. You have the beautiful and sweet "Moon Song" from Spike Jonze's Her (our personal favorite among the nominees) alongside fan favorites like "Let It Go" from Frozen and "Happy" from Despicable Me 2. Maybe we'll get a U2 performance at the Oscars this year, as their song "Ordinary Love" from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom snagged a nod, while the little-known, religious-themed "Alone Yet Not Alone" (from the movie of the same name) rounded out this year's list.
You can listen to all the nominees below. Let us know which is your favorite. And for a complete list of this year's Academy Award nominations, head right here.
