An official title (and new logo; see above) for the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, aka Batman vs. Superman, has finally been revealed: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And in case it isn't immediately apparent, the title clearly suggests this installment will set up the previously announced Justice League movie, which will reportedly hit theaters in May of 2017 and be directed by Zack Snyder.
The title announcement follows director Zack Snyder's recent reveal of Ben Affleck in the new Batman suit, as well as part of his updated Batmobile, both of which look to draw inspiration from older Batman comics like Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, a story this movie will borrow elements from.
As far as the new title goes, it makes sense. It keeps the Batman v Superman part (kind of; they dropped an s), which was this film's unofficial title for almost a year now, and it adds a tag that foreshadows what's to come, sort of like how Captain America was called The First Avenger, alluding to Marvel Studios' follow-up The Avengers. Seems like DC might be taking a page out of Marvel's playbook on this one, what do you think?
Thoughts on the title?
