Batman and Captain America Take a Break from Fighting Crime to Save Cat from Burning House

Sep 10, 2013

Batman and a catBatman and Captain America spend most of their time fighting supervillains like the Joker and the Red Skull, but sometimes superheroes have to do their duty on a much smaller scale – which is what the unlikely dynamic duo did recently when they crossed company lines (Batman is a DC character, Captain America is property of Marvel) to rescue a poor, defenseless cat from a burning house. Holy crossovers!

John Buckland and Troy Marcum work for an organization that uses superhero costumes to delight kids and send a positive message through the community. The men were doing just that at an event in Milton, West Virginia, when they saw a nearby house engulfed in flames. Being superheroes, they charged into action.

Buckland, a former firefighter, charged into the burning house and rescued the lone occupant – a small cat. The feline (no relation to Catwoman, apparently) appeared unconscious, so Buckland began efforts to resuscitate it – the efforts were successful, but the cat was a little spooked to be waking up to Batman. “The cat comes around. Takes a look at me, then hissed!” Buckland said.

That’s okay – it’s all in a day’s work for your average caped crusader. Check out a news report on the story below.
