Arnold Schwarzenegger appears hell-bent on making up for the time he took off from filmmaking to serve as Governor of California, with the actor-turned-politician-turned-actor-again adding new projects at a rapid-fire pace. The latest? Apparently it's a film entitled Ten.
Schwarzenegger will star in the action-thriller, which focuses on a DEA task force taking on the deadliest drug cartels on Earth. The group crosses the line when a standard raid is actually an elaborate front for members of the team to steal drug money – and they look to have gotten away with it, until someone starts killing each of the agents involved in the crime. No word yet on who Schwarzenegger will play in the project, but he will almost assuredly be headlining.
Ten marks the fourth Schwarzenegger project to be announced since his return to acting – and if you haven’t kept up at home, here’s a scorecard to outline the other three releases he’s got coming.
-- The Expendables 2 – due out in August, Schwarzenegger is back in Sylvester Stallone’s testosterone-laden action epic. The actor shares the screen with a veritable who’s who of action icons in this one.
-- The Tomb – scheduled for release at some point next year, The Tomb finds Schwarzenegger and Stallone working together yet again. Stallone plays a world-renowned architect who builds state of the art prisons. He’s forced to escape one of his own construction when he’s framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Arnold plays a character named Swan.
-- The Last Stand – Schwarzenegger headlines Kim Jee-woon’s tale of a small-town cop forced to help intercept one of the most dangerous drug lords in the world as he tries to escape across the border in this action flick due out in January 2013. Seeing an older, world-weary Arnold still go after the bad guys sounds like exactly what the doctor ordered as the icon settles into his autumn years.
And there you have it – enough Schwarzenegger action to inspire a complete testosterone overload is headed our way in the months ahead. Which of these projects has you most excited? Hit the comment section and let us know.
