An Animated Christmas Card from Terry Gilliam and a Drunk Holiday with Ryan Gosling, Jim Carrey & Eva Mendes

Dec 21, 2011

This boozy Christmas story directed by Jeremy Konner and Derek Waters is the perfect way to settle into the holiday when the nog at grandma's house starts to cloud your brain. The duos new installment in their Drunk History shorts series struggles through "The Night Before Christmas," which isn't an easy feat — particularly the part with all the reindeer. Ryan Gosling looks adorable in his sleeping cap and Eva Mendes … sleeps mostly. We're in love with Jim Carrey as Santa Claus. He's really cleaned up his act since In Living Color's dysfunctional holiday skits ("Pork and beans!"). Check out the clip below for dizzy, foul-mouthed, drunken good holiday cheer.

Terry Gilliam's cut paper animated The Christmas Card from 1968 will remind you of all the shorts the Monty Python star created for the iconic comedy series. Surreally funny and complete with all the usual potty humor, Gilliam brings holiday greeting cards to life and lets them run amok in his tongue-in-cheek world. Watch a demented Santa steal all the children's toys, snow crush a group of carolers, and other bizarre antics below.
