While all of you out there in internet land enjoy your day off feasting with family and friends in front of an obnoxiously large television that will probably be airing crappy football games, we'd like you to take a minute in between choosing between light and dark turkey meat to ponder why the world's most famous actress hates this holiday and refuses to celebrate it.
Yes folks, I'm talking about Angelina Jolie. The lips, the hair, the 17 kids -- the whole pretty package. According to Popeater (via friends of The Jolie), the actress doesn't want to "celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another" because it "just isn't her style. She definitely doesn't want to teach her multicultural family how to celebrate a story of murder."
Um, who's celebrating a story of murder? Are you? Not me. I'm celebrating a holiday in which we don't have to buy anyone anything. See, this is the thing about these self-important celebrities who refuse to celebrate holidays because people killed other people hundreds of years ago. Thanksgiving isn't about whites killing Indians; it's about people coming together to give thanks for what they have in their lives.
And as someone who wound up in this situation because she stole someone else's husband while shooting a movie with him, you'd think the gal would have more than a few things to be thankful for, right?
