It took a bit of constant fan intervention (and, we imagine, some smaller paychecks) to make Anchorman 2 a reality, but now it is -- and to get the ball rolling, the cast was reunited while the script was being written in order to familiarize themselves with the characters again while shooting a teaser trailer for the sequel, due out in 2013. That teaser trailer will play before The Dictator in theaters this weekend, but prior to that we've received our first look at Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) and, now, a teaser poster. It's a lot of marketing so far for a film that doesn't even have a script yet, but something tells us fans of the original won't mind one bit.
Here's director Adam McKay talking about the teaser trailer to EW, explaining, "Paramount came to us with the idea of the teaser, and since we’re writing the script, it was a good chance to see the characters and hang out with the actors to inspire writing. All of the actors slipped right into character and they all looked amazing. Paul has a beard and we’re thinking of keeping it. Kind of an Eddie Rabbit-meets-Serpico look. Right now I can say for sure there is no Ghost Rider cameo or a scene where Ron fights a wolverine on a nose-diving helicopter. We’re either going to shoot the movie in 3-D or 1/2 D."
Check out the poster below, and we'll circle back when the teaser trailer arrives online. [via Collider, Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide]
