We're living in a world full of Star Wars rumors right now as Disney keeps quiet about its big Star Wars sequel (due out in 2015) while various websites do everything they can to snoop around and feed a starving fan base more information. The latest rumor (via Latino Review) has Alex Pettyfer (seen stripping in Magic Mike above) meeting with J.J. Abrams about a potential lead role (Luke Skywalker's kid?), as well as model-actress Rachel Hurd-Wood, who auditioned for an unknown female lead role believed to be that of Han Solo and Princess Leia's daughter.
While your mind is swimming around in those rumors, here's a fun little trip down memory lane, back to where it all began for this franchise. In the below video, watch Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill audition for Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, respectively. What they're reading is actually an extended version of the Alderaan scene.
What's great about these videos is seeing how the actors eventually adjusted and discovered their characters. Ford begins quiet, but then slides right into the Han Solo we all know and love. Hamill, however, is very laid back here and nothing like the jumpy (and often whiny) Luke Skywalker we met in that first movie. Sure it's just an audition, but it's cool to see them experimenting and delivering different variations of what eventually made its way to the big screen.
