Afternoon Watch: Airbnb Uses Twitter to Create a Very Cool Short Film Made Entirely of Vine Videos

Dec 16, 2013

Popular accommodations network Airbnb created a unique ad campaign using Twitter and Twitter’s mobile video app Vine. The company invited people from around the world to submit six seconds of Vine video to help guide its story about a paper airplane that travels the world.

Director Miles Jay, writer Ben York Jones and concept creator Mullen SF brought the footage together for a charming adventure story. The lone airplane falls in love, is repurposed as a fortune in a fortune cookie, reborn inside a child’s drawing, and inspires a stack of paper to transform into a fleet of paper airplanes that take over the sky. The music by Rob Simonsen captures the feeling of soaring through the air.

The four-minute video proves once again that a little creativity and imagination with something like Vine can go a long way.
