Star Wars doesn’t really need any help from outside sources when it comes to being awesome, but the folks at Lego have certainly done their best to make George Lucas’ galaxy far, far away even cooler than it is on its own. From the Lego Star Wars video games to impressive block sets featuring the franchise’s most famous characters and locations, Lego and Star Wars are like a match made in nerd heaven. We suspect that bond will only get stronger after you get a peek at this awesome new promo video for Lego’s upcoming line of Star Wars Microfighters.
As the title implies, Lego’s newest creation are mini versions of some of the galaxy’s most beloved spacecrafts – like the Millennium Falcon and the imposing Star Destroyers of the Empire.
Lego is promoting the new toys with an absolutely adorable video that features Han Solo’s beloved bucket of bolts squaring off against an Imperial Commander’s Star Destroyer in a pod-race-esque sprint across Tatooine. Featuring the kind of physical humor that became synonymous with the game versions, and cameos from several Star Wars stalwarts, this video is all but guaranteed to tickle the fancy of Star Wars fanatics.
No word yet on when these Microfighters will be released, but if they’re half as cool as this video, we're going to want a whole set of them. Here’s a list of all the ships that will be featured as part of the collection:
