Piecing together all that happens throughout The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy can be somewhat of an arduous task. The one throughline we have, though, is that darn ring everyone wants. Here's a really cool infographic from Emil Johansson of the Lord of the Rings Project that tracks the timeline of the One Ring from its birth to its destruction, spanning a whopping 4,860 years.
