DreamWorks Animator Turns His Son's Everyday Activities into Awesome Mini Action Movies

Mar 28, 2014

What happens when your dad is an animator at DreamWorks, working on movies like Kung Fu Panda 2 and How to Train Your Dragon? Well, if you're the son of Daniel Hashimoto, it means many of your everyday activities are going to be turned into epic mini action movies.

Hashimoto's son, who goes by the title Action Movie Kid on YouTube, has invaded the Internet with a host of videos that primarily feature him using his imagination to play with toys as any kid does. What makes the videos special is that his father then adds the perfect effects to accompany each home video so that it appears as if his son's imagination has come to life.

So if Action Movie Kid is hanging out in the aisles of Toys 'R' Us waving around a fake lightsaber, his father will turn it into a real lightsaber, with destructive results.

And if his son is dressed up as Batman pretending to play with a grappling gun, his father will turn it into a real grappling gun, with hilarious results.

Action Movie Kid's videos are causing such a stir that he's making appearances on Good Morning America and The Today Show, and he even has his own Twitter account

The next step for Action Movie Kid? He definitely needs his own action movie. Get DreamWorks on the phone!
