Update: A new, red-band trailer for A Million Ways to Die in the West has hit online. Check it out, and do take our word that it's not safe for work.
How could Seth MacFarlane top himself after injecting our pure hearts with the foul-mouthed insanity that was the dirtiest teddy-bear comedy of all time? Well, how about with the dirtiest, most foul-mouthed Western of all time? The first R-rated international trailer for A Million Ways to Die in the West has arrived online, and it sorta feels like Blazing Saddles if Blazing Saddles was four times as filthy as it was.
If you know MacFarlane's humor, then you already know what to expect here. In his first live-action lead role, MacFarlane plays some average dude in the Old West who connects with a new girl in town (Charlize Theron) and along the way the duo just go to work lampooning Old West clichés, extracting every ounce of humor out of the familiar setting while spoofing some of our favorite classic Westerns at the same time.
So, yeah, it's Ted in the Old West, but with MacFarlane in human form instead of using only his voice. Considering Ted is already an instant cult classic (we have friends who do nothing but watch clips from that movie on YouTube and laugh and laugh), we can definitely see A Million Ways to Die in the West amassing its own little cult following in no time. And to all the MacFarlane haters out there... well, you'll just have to sit this one out. Me? I'll be there opening night.
A Million Ways to Die in the West hits theaters on May 30.
Watch the trailer below, but be warned: this is most definitely NSFW.
