Is it too much to hope that the recently-released poster art for the new installment in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise actually reflects something good about the upcoming film? Probably, but a horror fan can dream. Tobe Hooper's 1974 film is still the best TCM there is, but Hollywood is bringing us another version of the Leatherface tale. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D picks up right where Hooper's film ended and stars Alexandra Daddario, Trey Songz, Tania Raymonde, Karem Malicki-Sanchez, Thom Barry, and Shaun Sipos.
John Luessenhop directs the story about Heather (Daddario) who heads to her Texas hometown to collect an inheritance. During her family reunion, she discovers that the man with the mask made from human skin — Leatherface — is her cousin. The movie hits theaters next fall, but until then we have this poster with a pretty clever tagline to tide us over (see it bigger, below). Does it make you any more hopeful for the 3D version of a 1970's classic?
From chainsaws to … breasts (not unusual in the horror universe). Piranha 3DD previewed a trailer at the SCREAM Awards earlier this week. If the title didn't give it away, there is a whole lot of bosom in this clip and, of course, David Hasselhoff. Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Danielle Panabaker and more also star in the fish flick which takes the piranha to a water park this time. Sounds unlikely, but you're probably not going to see this film for its narrative genius. Check out the clip below, and let us know if Piranha 3DD has enough "D" in it to get you to pay for a ticket.
