The first footage from this summer's Total Recall reboot has arrived online in the form of a TV spot from Taiwan that looks to use a bit of the same footage shown at Comic-Con. It doesn't seem completely finished -- perhaps it's part of a TV campaign set to begin later this year -- but it does give us a taste of what to expect from the sci-fi thriller starring Colin Ferrell in the role Arnold Schwarzenegger once portrayed.
Of course this is a much different Total Recall than its 1990 predecessor. While there is some kind of recall service that allows people to become something they've always dreamed of becoming, there's no Mars subplot. There is, however, a futuristic-type setting, a bunch of fighting and a funny-looking John Cho. Kate Beckinsale also makes a brief appearance in the role once played by Sharon Stone.
The current synopsis looks something like this: As the nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai vie for supremacy, a factory worker (Farrell) begins to suspect that he's a spy, though he is unaware which side of the fight he's on.
