The first red-band trailer is out for this summer's The Watch (previously Neighborhood Watch), which has strategically shifted its focus away from the whole neighborhood watch angle following the recent Trayvon Martin shooting by changing its name to just The Watch, and focusing more on its alien invasion subplot. This trailer is all aliens, all the time, though we don't really see any, just their blood or slime or green whatever. Instead what we get is the film's ensemble cast - Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, Vince Vaughn and Richard Ayoade - sitting around, improvising alien-related jokes, first at the local Costco and then in one of their basements.
Based on the trailer alone, it would appear the entire film is just these four guys cracking jokes at each other, some of which involve aliens, while the cameras simply rolled on them for two hours. Right at the end they tease a plot point that involves alien weaponry, which definitely redeems the entire preview, but we're still hoping to get a little more out of this sci-fi comedy than four guys telling d*ck jokes for a couple hours.
