We're counting the days until Berandal, the sequel to Gareth Evans' The Raid: Redemption, arrives in 2014. So far, we know the second film picks up hours after the first movie ends. Rama (Iko Uwais), who put up one hell of a fight during the lethal battle inside a dangerous slum, goes undercover to infiltrate the Jakarta crime organization (Berandal is the Indonesian word for "thugs") to keep his family free from harm and uncover corruption in the local police force.
Production is underway and Twitch has shared a photo from a location shoot capturing several car-chase stunts. The guy behind that camera who is facing an oncoming car whose stunt didn't go quite as planned is director Gareth Evans. Clearly the filmmaker is pulling out all the stops for the new installment in what he hopes will be a trilogy. After the breathtaking action in Redemption, we're not sure our hearts can handle what the director has in store for Berandal. We just hope he makes it through production in one piece.
