'The Help' Notches Three Acting Wins at SAG Awards

'The Help' Notches Three Acting Wins at SAG Awards

Jan 29, 2012

Brace yourselves, folks. We may be headed to a mind-numbingly predictable awards season capper when the Academy Awards rolls into town next month. Let's hope Billy Crystal's comedy skits can break through the deja-vu-ish repetitiveness.

As far as tonight's SAG Awards are concerned, it can be summed up in one sentence: Everybody you thought would win, won. From Christopher Plummer and Octavia Spencer firmly in control of the supporting actor categories to Jean Dujardin and Viola Davis leading the way in the best actor and actress categories. And while The Help claimed the best ensemble prize, rest assured that if there was a best picture award, The Artist would most likely walk away with the award, much like it did Saturday night at the Director's Guild Awards.
The full list of winners is below including winners on the TV side of showbiz, where Modern Family and Boardwalk Empire continue to reign supreme.
Hard to ask what the biggest surprise of the night was so we'll go with what your most memorable moment of tonight's show was.
