Movies Chat is our new work-in-progress chat show hosted by Movies.com Managing Editor Erik Davis. Each month we'll release multiple episodes that feature 15-20 minute conversations with some of the web's most notable movie experts.
The Amazing Spider-Man officially hit theaters yesterday, and with it came a whole lot of chatter, good and bad. Some feel the film truly succeeds in rebooting the Spider-Man franchise with a fresh, lively and character-driven take, while others think it's a bit of a mess. After seeing the film for myself, I invited John Gholson (@gholson), author of our Amazing Spider-Man and Marvel Studios Countdown columns, and Sean O'Connell (@sean_oconnell), writer and critic for Fandango, Movies.com, CinemaBlend and others, to a roundtable chat to discuss what The Amazing Spider-Man got right and what it got wrong.
Spoiler Note: This conversation includes spoilers, so listen at your own risk if you have not seen the movie yet.
