Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s long-awaited sequel to Sin City is finally underway, and today we’ve learned that three more actors have been added to the cast.
The Playlist’s sources have revealed that Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, and Jeremy Piven have all landed roles in the upcoming Sin City: A Dame to Kill For – meaning the actors will be joining returning performers Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, and Jaime King in the highly anticipated new film. Details concerning the characters the new cast members will play are being kept secret for the time being.
Of the three newly announced actors, Liotta is the most intriguing. We don’t have the first clue as to who he might be playing, but if ever there were an actor who belonged in that universe, it’s Liotta. This marks the latest role in a bit of a career renaissance for the Goodfellas star – he’s coming off performances in Place Beyond the Pines, The Iceman (another mob film – this one about hitman Richard Kuklinski), and Killing Them Softly.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is just one of two Rodriguez films set to debut this year – the director is also releasing the sequel to his cult hit Machete, entitled Machete Kills, this fall.
Expect the new Sin City to blast its way into theaters on October 4.
