UPDATE: The full Paranormal Activity 4 trailer is now on Apple and it definitely offers some solid insight to where they're taking the fourth in the series. After PA3's jaunt to the '80s, PA4 is jumping back to present day, as evidenced by the use of Skype and voice-activated house alarms. Check it out below and let us know what you think.
UPDATE 2: Paramount has also released another snippet from the film, revealing even more haunted bits that aren't seen in the trailer above or the clips below:
Paranormal Activity 4 is set to continue the franchise's yearly pilgrimage to theaters this October with a continuation of the "an evil walks amongst us and is captured on videotape" storyline that’s propelled this series since Oren Peli’s micro-budgeted original took the world by storm back in 2007. Paramount’s prepared us for today’s first full trailer release with a series of teaser previews. While we’re not really fans of trailers for trailers (seriously, what a goofy idea), we've been looking at the brief clips in hopes of maybe figuring out where Paranormal Activity 4 is headed.
Unfortunately, it’s almost impossible to tell from these short snippets. Each of the three trailers appears to be filled primarily with footage from the earlier films – a sort of subliminal refresher course on the history of Katie, Kristi and the demonic Toby. The only new thing we really see is a blonde female character who appears to be new to the series. Is she this film’s protagonist? Is she somehow related to Kristi and Katie? We haven’t a clue, so today’s full trailer will hopefully shed some light on what returning filmmakers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost have in store for us this October.
Have a peek at the teasers below and be sure to swing by later today for the full trailer reveal.
