Gravity looks like it's the scariest movie of the year. And it's not even a horror movie. Not really.
Starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, Gravity is a new sci-fi film from Children of Men director Alfonso Cuaron. It's about two astronauts doing a routine space walk for repairs when tragedy strikes. Something goes very, very wrong and things spiral terrifyingly out of control. Seriously, if you're claustrophobic, you may not want to press play on this. Even though these two are in the unfathomable vastness of space, it's downright panic inducing to imagine what's about to happen to them.
There's been a trend lately for sci-fi movies to focus on the perils of scientific exploration; to make it so that all human endeavors end in tragedy. Gravity may very well be that kind of movie, but it also looks like the kind of movie where the sci-fi scenario is secondary to the drama at hand; where it's just a vehicle to put us in a situation we've never been before. And in that regard, Gravity looks absolutely stunning.
Gravity hits theaters on October 4, 2013 and we couldn't be more excited for it.
