Bad Turn Worse

We’ve got the new trailer for Texas-based neo-noir flick Bad Turn Worse (formerly known as We Gotta Get Out of This Place), and if you like your crime tales baked to perfection in the Lone Star state’s blistering heat, we think you’re gonna like this new clip.

The film, which was picked up by Starz and features performances from Jeremy Allen White, Logan Huffman, Mackenzie Davis and Mark Pellegrino -- looks to be a Southern-fried crime thriller in the vein of Red Rock West. The clip is quick to point out all the critical praise that’s been heaped on the film since its 2013 Toronto International Film Fest debut, and then backs it all up with a mesmerizing preview of what's to come when the feature hits theaters and VOD on November 14. Here’s the official plot breakdown:

“After a weekend of partying with stolen money, three Texas teens (Jeremy Allen White, Logan Huffman, and Mackenzie Davis) find themselves indebted to a sociopathic criminal named Giff (Mark Pellegrino in a breakout performance). To pay their debt, Giff forces the teens to steal from his boss, a money-laundering gangster named Big Red (William Devane). Things go from bad to worse when betrayal, distrust, and corruption complicate an already dangerous plan. This stylish and emotional crime thriller is the stunning directorial debut of Simon and Zeke Hawkins. An official selection of the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.”

It’s no stretch to call this a “breakout performance” from Pellegrino. The actor, who’s spent the past few seasons playing Lucifer himself on the CW’s Supernatural, channels his inner evil throughout the trailer and looks like he could be a screen villain to rival the likes of Anton Chigurh.

Have a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.
